I am happy to report a number of positive happenings that have occurred in the past week. The number of people interested in boudoir photography in Lynchburg is HUGE! Thank you so much ladies who have been reaching out and setting up their appointments.

To add to the amazing boudoir special, the Holiday Inn Downtown in Lynchburg VA has partnered with Seven20 Photography Studio to allow you to use this fabulous hotel as your backdrop for your Valentine’s Boudoir Shoot! The Hotel features a marvelous honeymoon suite which features a heart shaped jacuzzi that screams PHOTO OP!

This is Lucy, an amazing model who was voted best model at the charity fashion show to benefit the Haitian Relief held May 1st.
She is as warm and amicable as she is as she is beautiful. Special thanks to Doug Minnis for holding the event and for bringing fashion, beauty, and photographers together for such a worthy cause.

This is a small sample of backstage of the VITA Spring 2010 Fashion Show. The clothes were amazing and the models were fantastic! There were multiple fashion designers (5), awesome make up artists and hair stylists; I felt like I’d been transported from a large town to a metropolitan area. If you haven’t been able to attend one of these fashion shows you have no idea how much excitement and talent you’re missing out on here in your own backyard. A special thanks and shout out to my friend Becca Mccharen, who is one of the designers of Chromat and lead organizer of the show for inviting me and allowing me to have a blast back stage. Also, shout out to Lynchburg Socialite for helping to spread the word about all the cool happenings in the Burg.

The Historic Theatre

Welcome to March!
With March comes the hope of Spring with the bulk of the chills of winter behind us. There is an old building which is now moving towards the springtime of its existence: The Historic Academy Theatre. Its home is downtown Lynchburg, right on Main st. This gem of ages past is currently being renovated and restored to its former glory enabling her to ascend to new heights. This building which opened in the early 1900′s, endured fires, floods, and abandonment until the Friends of The Academy stood in the gap to bring the winter of this great theater’s life to a close and ensure an everlasting spring for many generations to come to enjoy. These photos are just a sample of the pictures taken yesterday of this delicately broken beauty.

Dr. Petticolas – Inside the Interview with (434) Magazine

This round of photographs are from the (434) Magazine’s Heather Brown interview of Dr. A. Petticolas. He has a tremendous story, passion and philosophy that is highlighted in the article. Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting him knows that he is a soft spoken, determined, and highly influential man, though he may not be fully aware of his influence. He is a pillar of the African American community here in Lynchburg VA. Read his story and view more photographs inside (434).

I had a great time talking with him about a range a subjects: his passion about making health care available to everyone, and the only time he ever had to spank his daughter during her toddler days in a grocery store. For such as quiet man he is extremely animated! Enjoy the photos and be on the lookout for (434) which premieres this month!
